  The P.1154 story
Both the RAF and Hawker Siddeley's technical staff were relieved by the elimination of the commonality requirement, and the P.1154 now began to make real progress, moving from design to development.
While Hawker Siddeley questioned the degree of control that the Ministry of Aviation had over areas such as the avionics, believing they could perform these functions much better themselves, they agreed to appoint a Programme Controller to oversee the project and to adopt the PERT management system.
Hawker Siddeley and the Ministry of Aviation continued to discuss detail points that affected the programme, the most important being the continuing lack of orders for the radar and inertial nav-attack system.

Airfix 1/72 Folland Gnat "Red Arrows"
In 1964 the Red Arrows were formed as an elite aerobatic team flying nine Gnats (with one in reserve), and they have performed at airshows all over the world.
Powered by a Bristol Siddeley Orpheus 100 single spool turbojet of 4,320 pounds static thrust, the aircraft has a maximum speed of Mach 0.97 in level flight (one Finnish aircraft was flown faster than mach 1), and a range of 600 miles.
In a series of aerospace consolidations in the UK Folland became part of Hawker Siddeley who in turn became part of British Aerospace.

[2.0] Hunter In British & Foreign Service
The neglect of the Hunter in British service was also partly due to Hawker Siddeley's attempts to advance the case of their vertical take-off or landing (VTOL) fighter effort, in the form of the "P.1127" VTOL demonstrators and the following "Kestrel" evaluation machines.
The P.1154 effort was bogged down by squabbling between the RAF and the Royal Navy and eventually axed, but Hawker Siddeley was able to leverage some of its kit into the Kestrel to create the Harrier jump-jet strike aircraft.
One ended up in the Royal Danish Air Force Museum and 20 were sold back to Hawker Siddeley, but the Danes had got their money's worth out of their Hunters and it turned out they were too clapped-out to be worth refurbishing.

Typically, humans have more hair on the top of the head, because this region of the body was exposed to solar radiation at all times, even when wading, and also hair where extremities meet the torso, axillary hair, and pubic hair), on the eyelids and above them.
In people of European descent, blond hair and fl hair are at the thinner end of the scale, while red hair is the thickest.
It is best seen in women and children, as they have less terminal hair to obscure it.

It was armed with two 30 mm ADEN cannons and two air-to-air missiles, at first the Fairey Firestreak and later the Hawker Siddeley Red Top.
The flaps were even used as fuel tanks, and the landing gear had very narrow tyres that retracted outward so that there could be greater tankage inboard.
These later aircraft were the single seater F.3 and F.6 and the twin seat trainer variants T.4 and T.5, all constructed by British Aerospace and distinguished from earlier versions by their flat topped fins.

The Red Top Air-to-Air Missile was originally called Firestreak IV.
The requirement for Red Top in late 1956, was to improve the Infra-Red seeker head to such an extent that a target aircraft could be engaged successfully from almost any direction.
Development of Red Top was rapid and it entered service in 1964 with Lightning Squadrons.

Tamiya America Item #61026 | Hawker Sea Harrier Kit - CO126
The Hawker Siddeley Harrier astounded the world with its unique ability to take-off and land vertically utilizing vectored thrust from its powerful 8000kg thrust engine.
The Royal Navy Harriers, during the conflict, were painted in the new "toned down" finish of matte sea blue overall, while the RAF aircraft were in the extra dark sea gray scheme.
With a cruise speed of mach.9 and a top speed of 1.25, and landing speed of 0, this is truly a versatile combat aircraft and one that will be in weapons inventories for many years to come.

The Raytheon Hawker 'family' has a confusing lineage, because the 400XP is a development of the Mitsubishi Diamond, whereas the 800XP is based on the BAe 125-800 and the Horizon is a virtually new aircraft, although it is inspired by the same philosophy that lies behind the Hawker name.
As usual with top end Flight Simulator products, installation requires validation of a key; but the whole process was very straightforward and ran without any problems at all.
As an introduction to addon FS corporate jets, the Eaglesoft Raytheon Hawker XP would make a good choice for simmers looking for a step up from the Lear; there are just enough knobs and whistles in the cockpit to make the addon a little more challenging and the price is right.

Five yellow-painted Gnat T.1s modified to generate smoke were used in 1964 by the RAF "Yellojacks" aerobatic demonstration team, which was redefined a year later to the RAF "Red Arrows", with red-painted aircraft.
Their nine red Gnats, trailing smoke during precision maneuvers, pleased crowds at airshows in Britain and around the world.
The Red Arrows operated the Gnat until 1979, when they converted to the British Aerospace Hawk, which also replaced the Gnat T.1 in the advanced training role.

The administration in Kathmandu was taken completely by surprise and the threat was not recognized as such until 19 February 1996, when Maoists launched a series of attacks against police stations, that culminated with a large clash, eight days later, that left a number of policemen dead.

[3.0] DH Venom / DH Sea Vixen
Among the reasons for using the twin-boom scheme was that it allowed the two engines to be placed closely together, reducing the problems of asymmetrical thrust if one engine failed, and it also improved service access to the engines.
Early concepts had also featured a side-by-side cockpit much like that of the Sea Venom, but the decision was made that the radar operator would be able to see his displays better from inside the dark "coal hole" or "coal bin" than from under cockpit glazing.
In 1961, the decision was made to acquire the "Sea Vixen FAW.2", which was to carry the improved Red Top AAM.

Another silly theory was that a flood of superior performance would follow this financial stimulus.

At the same time, penny-pinching development funding meant that it took until the Mk 6 before a wing stressed to carry weapons pylons and external fuel tanks was fitted.
The Lightning was never fitted with a Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), or adapted to carry Sidewinder missiles, and in it's final years was forced to rely on it's gun armament to supplement it's ancient Red Top missiles.
The mechanical complexity of the Lightning was of a entirely different order to that of it's predecessors and gave the RAF a major maintenance challenge upon it's introduction into service.
