New South Wales is bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the E., by Queensland on the N., by South Australia on the W. and by Victoria on the S. It lies between 28 and 38 S. lat., and 141 and 154 E. long.
South of Sydney the rivers are of less importance; the principal is the Shoalhaven, 260 m.
In the extreme south-east of New South Wales, at the head of the Genoa river, are sandstones with Archaeopleris howilti, which are an extension of the Lower Devonian beds of Victoria; while farther to the east, at Eden and Twofold Bay, are Upper Devonian sandstones.

And it was a reminder to me as somebody who was educated within the New South Wales public school system in a suburb of Sydney and then went to a high school in the suburbs of Sydney just how difficult some of the challenges are.
I understand that you have the only high school in New South Wales, perhaps in Australia, which is a war memorial public high school.
To meet the children of your schools, to meet your local representatives, to meet the people employed in different pursuits and tasks in the town is a reminder to me of that tremendous spirit.

 Numismatics: Australia: Internment Camp Tokens
The first internment camp for political prisoners was established at Liverpool in New South Wales at the outbreak of World War I. Little is known about this camp but it is of numismatic interest because the first Australian internment camp tokens were issued for use there.
Almost two thousand of these prisoners were held at two camps near Hay in New South Wales where they remained until the end of WWII.
New Zealand collectors Martin McKenzie and Rob Watts have discovered that there are at least two reverse die varieties in the Hay 3d ICT.

The Dunera Memorial was raised to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the arrival of European internees, known as "The Dunera Boys".
During their 9 months in Hay they set up a university, a symphony orchestra and printed their own currency.
The memorial was constructed to mark their return to Hay (many from overseas) in September 1990.
