Tani had rarely seen such determination and steel in one so young, yet underneath it all was a vulnerability that made him feel rather protective of her at times.
Tani studied her expression, trying to read what she was really feeling, trying to understand why there was such a blush to her lovely face.
Tani, Nadya and their army had successfully tracked Takeshi to a clearing in the forest, and were watching their quarry carefully.
Tani was standing in front of a very worried Koenma who was ranting on about how the Human Realm will be destroyed if the artifact wasn't returned soon, being bored out of her skull.
As Tani went off to the Human Realm to find her new partners, the thief was silently watching, waiting to see what new adversaries she had to face......new adversaries she had to kill.
Tani walked out of the room with everyone looking after her except for Botan, when Kain asked what was on everyone's mind.

About Mikiya Tani I was a visiting researcher in the College of Computing of Gerogia Tech from Jan 4th 1996 through Jan 12th 1997.
Commanding the troupes that attacked Takeshi’s Castle was a certain GENERAL TANI.
Challenge TV did not help much; they replied to an email I sent to them by saying “If you find out who he is let us know!” NOT acceptable especially because the show is quite popular and so is the General (judging from chat rooms and message boards).
And suddenly "strange" things started happening: I met a wonderful lady who is as crazy as me about TANI… and after hitting my head repeatedly on the bathroom wall I remembered I DO have a Japanese “correspondent” (thanks to another fan group I belong to)!
He has appeared in a great number of TV shows and movies in his career but one of his most famous roles was "General Tani" in the 1980's game show, Fu'un!
In each episode he would lead an army of volunteers through the challenges set by Takeshi Kitano.
Yurippe: Yurippe was a girl from Tani's hometown who baked him cookies; when Tae did likewise, it reminded him of Yurippe.
Anegasaki Tae: The lovely school nurse, who Tani has a crush on.
Katou Kyouji: Cookie-stealing homeroom teacher of 2-D, he is Tani's great rival, and his theft of the cookies Tae gave to Tani leads Tani to declare war on 2-D during the Athletic Festival arc.
His court jester has been re-voiced as Kenny Blankenship, a wise-ass guy with a lot of lust and plans to score babes.
HayatoTani's character General Lee has been re-voiced as the ever popular Captain Tenneal, who's a little conservative, has an opinion on everything and waves a mean $39.00 sword.
The mustachioed field reporter is dubbed in a Maurice Chevalier Fake French accent as Guy LeDouche, who's always groping the women during post event interviews and getting rudely rejected in disgust.
I'm just going to get ready and then I'm off out for a little shopping trip and some breakfast...I don't know if I'll come back here first or if I go straight to work.
Watched Takeshi this morning and HayatoTani was in his ultra daz white uniform - yummy - and no one won!!

Unlike MXC, which plays on the competitors actually being American stereotypes, TC revels in the fact that it's a Japanese show, and Craig regularly makes references to the Japanese during the show.
MXC, however, shows a lot of stuff like interviews, while TC really only shows the General "Lee" introduction (where in MXC General "Tenneal" is introduced - the General is in fact HayatoTani) and sometimes his speech at the end of the Showdown (which MXC just plain doesn't have).
As a result, you only actually see Takeshi Kitano in the Showdown - either in the largest dodgem or the biplane, while in MXC you see him all the time in the dialogue scenes.
In 1986, the Japanese actor/director Kitano 'Beat' Takeshi created and hosted a TV game show called Takeshi's Castle, broadcast on the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS).
Takeshi played himself as the Count, defender of a castle under siege by General Lee (HayatoTani).
The General would recruit over 100 contestants to serve as his army for each episode.
1946: HAYATOTANI, who played Captain Sanjuro Sagata on "Aura Task Force Maskman", is born in Nagasaki.
1885: AKIRA TANI, who played a chubby thug in "Half-Human: The Story of the Abominable Snowman" and the village headman in "Godzilla vs. the Thing", is born in Fukuoka.
Also appearing in "Madame White Snake" and "The Three Treasures", he died in 1966.
