Haymarket is a suburb at the southern end of the central business district of Sydney, Australia.
Sydney's produce markets were located in Haymarket from the early 20th century through to the 1980s when they were moved to a new site at Flemington.

The Haymarket is a street in the St. James's district of the City of Westminister in London, England.
In earlier centuries Haymarket was also one of the most prominent centres of prostitution in London, but this is no longer the case.
One flier alleged that the police had murdered the strikers on behalf of the businesses--called for workers to seek justice for the murdered strikers and to fight back with weapons: "To arms, we call you, to arms!" Despite continued police attacks, the rally was held.

New South Wales Energy Minister Frank Sartor says he cannot guarantee there will not be any flouts in Sydney's CBD, despite opening the city's newest high-voltage power station today.
The station is in Sydney's Haymarket and for the first time provides high-voltage feeds directly to the 1 million or so customers in Sydney's CBD.
Standing beside the turbines, Mr Sartor said that with 90 per cent of flouts caused by environmental factors the Haymarket substation will only guarantee there is enough electricity.

A 26-year-old man from the New South Wales south coast will appear in court today charged with murdering a woman in Sydney yesterday.
Police found the 30-year-old Nowra woman with gunshot wounds to her upper body in a car park at Haymarket.
The man is also from Nowra and has been charged with a number of offences including murder, shooting with intent, possessing a shortened shotgun and discharging a firearm.
