It’s time again to tape up the sails, put on your topsiders, renew the trailer registration, practice your knots, and get ready for a new sailing season at S.H.Y.C. You will be pleased to know that Kevin Broome has been recruited for the Head Sailing Instructor position and will be supervising our four instructors.
The sailing committee has identified this year as a great opportunity to continue to nurture a relatively “young team” of sailors – for recreational enjoyment as well as racing Opti’s and 420’s competitively with area clubs.
Sailing Grand Prix event has grown to major proportions and is one of the premier Junior Regattas in New England.

So I signed up for my sailing lessons, which took several weeks for the basic certifications(since I could only go on weekends), and this was the book that was required(for the classes).
While I didn't use it in a sailing class or school, it is the book that I picked up when I taught myself to sail.
