		And while he can't address the goby situation specifically, Casselman explains that when the rock bass arrived in Lake Ontario, in some areas the number of species dwindled from 14 to four, two of those four being the rock bass and the small-mouth bass.
		This news comes at a time where some of Lake Ontario's native species -- the deepwater sculpin, the emerald shiner and the threespined stickleback -- seem to be on the comeback trail.

		General Pike was laid down by Henry Eckford, a New York City shipbuilder who supervised the construction of warships on Lake Ontario, at Sackett's Harbor 9 April 1813.
		While cruising the lake, she engaged British ships under Commodore Yeo in an indecisive battle on 10 and 11 August.
		After returning to Sackett's Harbor early in October, General Pike supported troop movements against the British at the lower end of Lake Ontario until mid-November when she returned to the Niagara Peninsula to cover the transfer of American troops from Fort Niagara to Sackett's Harbor.
