The CBGB and Max's scene included The Ramones, Television, Blondie, Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers (fronted by a former New York Doll), Richard Hell and The Voidoids, and the Talking Heads.
In December of 1976, the Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned, and Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers united for the Anarchy Tour, a series of gigs throughout the UK.
Many of the gigs were cancelled by venue owners, after tabloid newspapers and other media seized on sensational stories regarding the antics of both the bands and their fans.

The Heartbreakers were an American protopunk supergroup composed of Richard Hell (of Television), Jerry Nolan and Johnny Thunders (both of New York Dolls).
They moved to London and supported the Sex Pistols on their 1976 tour.
After their first single, "Chinese Rocks," (co-written by fellow New York City punk star Dee Dee Ramone) The Heartbreakers recorded their debut album L.A.M.F., but Nolan disapproved of the sound and left the group.
