		Hearts Afire is a sitcom that aired from 1992-1995 on CBS.
		Although HEARTS AFIRE finished in the top 20 of all series broadcast during the 1992-93 season, according to the Nielsen ranking, it was never considered a ratings success.
		HEARTS AFIRE is the only television series I've ever seen that succeeds in accurately capturing the unique culture of Capitol Hill -- and Washington -- in the situation comedy format.

		The show seems a bit out of step with the popular tide of the at-the-time Clinton administration, which is perhaps why it never fully struck a chord with audiences, never placing higher than 25th in the Nielsen ratings for any full season.
		The winking, open-secret philandering, blasé amorality and general lack of accountability was pre-Monica Lewinsky; it would’ve been interesting to see if or how Hearts Afire could adapt once the fuse of the culture wars had been lit.
