	Heaven 17 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Heaven 17 is a British synthpop band originating in Sheffield, England in the early 1980s.
		Heaven 17 is also mentioned in the song 'Cubs in Five' by The Mountain Goats.
		Heaven 17's 'Temptation' is however featured on the second Trainspotting CD, featuring songs 'inspired by' the film.

		Heaven 17 emerged from the post split wreckage of the first edition of The Human League.
		The debut Heaven 17 album, 'Penthouse and Pavement', was nocturnally recorded whilst Phil Oakey's new Human League recorded their album 'Dare' in the same studio which was co-owned by both bands.
		Heaven 17 continue to feature on most compilations of 80's hits one of the latest being 12 inch / 80's /2 the second volume of extended mixes.

		The last song they played was "Temptation." Now here in North America, Heaven 17's best-known song is "Let Me Go." However, in the UK and Europe, "Temptation" was a huge smash hit.
		The Heaven 17 logo on the T-shirt was one I had never seen before (it looks the same upside down), so I just had to have it, of course!

		The first Heaven 17 album I ever bought was the US only compilation "Heaven 17" which took track from Penthouse and Pavement and the band's second album The Luxury Gap.
		Frankly compared to the versions of a couple of songs on the Arista Heaven 17 album (I think they used single mixes) these sound rough- Play to Win and Let's All Make a Bomb come to mind.
		The real jewel is Soul Warfare, originally performed by the UK "band" Hot Gossip (as produced by BEF, the production arm of Heaven 17, so it is not a big surprise Heaven 17 choose to re-do it for this album).
