		Heavenly Mother (also referred to as Mother in Heaven) is the wife and feminine counterpart of God the Father.
		The theological underpinnings of a belief in Heavenly Mother is attributed to Joseph Smith, Jr.
		Heavenly Mother is sometimes taught in the Sunday School (Mormonism), consistently with the theology above, and lack of more information about Her is epxlained that since, unlike Jesus Christ and God the Father, Heavenly Mother does not play a role in the salvation, and/or because avoiding drawing attention helps preserve the sacredness of Her existence.

		Though the 1995 reference to “heavenly parents” is difficult to interpret outside the lines of a Heavenly Mother, I agree that it could possibly hold the interpretation that you suggest, that both God and Jesus are referred to as “Heavenly Parents” and the fact that there is more than one creates a plural.
		Though she is certainly concerned and occupied with the affairs of Her children, I don’t think we necessarily must assume that she is a part of the patriarchal triumvirate that represents the governing force in the universe.
		There is an obvious connection between the two in that one of the few things we would assume as to the roles played by Heavenly Mother is that she is the spirit mother of all spirit beings.

		The Mormon concept of a "heavenly mother" is refereed to in a hymn by church leader Eliza R. Snow, and remains an officially approved doctrine.
		This doctrine is tied in with their beliefs that we all existed as "spirit children" in the spirit world with a heavenly "father" and "mother" beofre being sent to earth to take on a body.
		Apparently the "eternal mother" is not to be "worshipped", being rather an "eternal mother" that a "goddess"but if she conceives spirit children (as we shall see later on, this is what Mormon doctrine teaches) then she is surely as much a "goddess" as the Mormon "father" is a "god"?
