  Toe Blake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hector "Toe" Blake, OC (August 21, 1912 - May 17, 1995) was a Canadian ice hockey player and coach in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Blake played junior and senior hockey in the Sudbury area and was part of the 1932 Memorial Cup champions, the Sudbury Cub Wolves.
Considered one of the greatest coaches in the game, Toe Blake was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966 and was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1982.

Blake played his entire NHL career in Montreal and all but eight games with the Canadiens.
Blake made his professional debut in the 1935 playoffs with the Montreal Maroons, but was traded to their cross-town rival for Lorne Chabot in February 1936.
During the 1940s, Blake, Maurice Richard and Elmer Lach were known as the Punch line, and were one of the most dangerous lines in the NHL.
