Hector shows great imagination in the openings and most of his pet variations are sound.
If there ever were to be a Hector variation I would vote for white in the Winaver French 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.Qd3 or for fl in the Scotch 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Nxd4 Qf6
As a side note: There exists an opening with his name, the Hector Gambit (1.e4 c6 2.Nc3 d5 3.Nf3 dxe4 4.Ng5) that according to Jonny should be thought of as an improved Budapest Gambit with colors reversed.
