Tims 92 - Hednesford Town   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Hednesford, despite never really troubling our goal, weren’t there for the taking, and defended resolutely throughout the night, not really letting us create any clear cut chances in the box, and the few attempts on goal that we did have were mostly blasted over, or stopped by their keeper, who was having a good game.
When the final whistle blew, despite the win, there was a few disgruntled Wolves fans, who had come expecting some entertaining football, but as reminded later, the night wasn’t about goals, it was indeed about fitness, and building for the new season.
Hopefully Hednesford can build on their promotion season of 2004-05 and make their way up to the Conference again, the ground deserves to see football of at least that level.

 Hednesford Town v Mossley
Hednesford created little in a football sense but their long ball, up and under tactics are extremely difficult to counter and Mossley did remarkably well to keep their goal in tact and actual clear chances for the Pitmen to a bare minimum.
On the rare occasion that Mossley created any kind of openings Hednesford keeper Young handled superbly, as did Danny Trueman at the other end to deny chances for Alexander and Screaton.
At the other end Mossley survived a last minute free kick as White went close and it was a relieved and a reasonably contented Mossley side that trooped off with a very hard earned point at the end.

Hednesford were without the inspirational Stuart Lake, the only player to impress for Hednesford in their 4-1 reversal at Crabble last season, and summer signing Val Owen, the highly rated ex-Northwich goal-scoring midfielder, was only on the bench.
With Shearer dominant at the back, Le Bihan orchestrating the game in midfield and Pinnock causing all sorts of problems for Hednesford's defence, the two teams were completely mismatched and had this been a boxing match the referee would have stopped the contest well before the final whistle.
Next up for the Whites is a trip to Hayes on Tuesday followed by the long journey to Conference new boys Chester City on Saturday before a return to Crabble for a Bank Holiday fixture against Kettering.
