Heffalump - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A heffalump is a fictional creature similar to an elephant mentioned in the Winnie the Pooh stories, in Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1928).
Although never explicitly stated it is generally thought that heffalumps are elephants from a child's viewpoint (with the word "heffalump" being a child's attempt at pronouncing "elephant").
One particular heffalump named Heff was the dim-witted sidekick for Stan the Woozle, and he was afraid of Roo, because he thought Roo was a giant mouse (perhaps a reference to the Looney Tunes running gag of Sylvester mistaking Hippety Hopper for a giant mouse).

Pooh's Heffalump Movie (2005) - Ninth Symphony Films Review
Pooh's Heffalump Movie is unequivocally made for the youngest of audiences and it is only the adult viewer's childhood love of the characters that will make the experience something impressively fuzzy.
If one were to compare Heffalump and other recent Pooh escapades such as The Tigger Movie and Piglet's Big Movie, a subtle difference would be apparent between these films and the short films of the past (such as "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" from 1968).
As an addition to the world of Pooh, this Heffalump is a worthy addition to the gang and does gentle justice to the time honored characters he joins.

Pooh's Heffalump Movie is not at all a total disaster and most within its strictly-defined target audience probably won't have such critical qualms, making this the type of thing one graduates to from "Baby Einstein." For the rest of us literate folk, though, "harmless" is the kindest thing to apply to the film.
