Heinkel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Heinkel was established at Warnemünde in 1922 as the restrictions on German aviation imposed by the Treaty of Versailles were relaxed.
Heinkel was less successful in selling fighter designs - before the war, the Heinkel He 112 had been rejected in favour of the Messerschmitt Bf 109, and Heinkel's attempt to top Messerschmitt's design with the Heinkel He 100 failed due to political interference within the Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM - Reich Aviation Ministry).
In 1939, the Heinkel He 176 and Heinkel He 178 became the first aircraft to fly under liquid-fuel rocket and turbojet power respectively, and Heinkel was the first to develop a jet fighter to prototype stage, the Heinkel He 280.

Heinkel claimed that the clean cylinder heads, on two and three, were the result of the metal from the foreign object beating around the head.
Heinkel stated that he had not done these tests before he changed the engine because, before the car was brought in the last time, he had not found anything wrong with the car.
Heinkel claimed that the Lemon Law statute was being used as a sword to take advantage of someone, who was good to the petitioner and dealt with her honestly.

Engines were still supplied by Ernst Heinkel Ag and it is thought all were 198cc of 408 B-1 (four wheeler) or 408 B-2 (three wheeler) specification.
These engines were purchased directly from Heinkel by Trojan and include changes to specification, including the reintroduction of the Siba dynastart and changes to the gear box components.
As Heinkel engineers did not approve of some of the changes insisted on by Trojan they would not guarantee their engines so Trojan took on the responsibility for all warranty claims.

A contemporary to the Heinkel 111 (which it beat into the air by three months), the Ju 86 was, like its rival, designed as both a civi airliner and bomber.
This latter version was the last to serve with the Luftwaffe (bombers being afforded low priority during the last year of the war), but many interesting projects continued to be pursued, including the conversion of He 177V38 as a carrier of Germany's atomic bombs, which in the event did not materialise.
The big Heinkel Greif bombers, originally intended to provide the Luftwaffe with a strategic bombing force, encountered so many development problems that they only entered service in quantify during the last 18 months of the war.

A small single-seater fighter flying boat was developed by Ernst Heinkel, the Hansa-Brandenburg designer, early in 1916; out of gratitude to the proprietor of the firm, Camillo Castiglione, he christened it the CC.

Number 8-100 was originally allocated to Fieseler, but requested by Heinkel as a "special" number for his aircraft, which was to break the absolute speed record.
Heinkel initially assigned the number He 180 to this project, but this was changed by the RLM to He 280, because it conflicted with the Bü 180.
This digit was - with the exception of "1" for Heinkel - chosen to match the 100 block number assigned to this manufacturer for piston engines.
