Heinkel He 60 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Heinkel He 60 was a biplane reconnaissance seaplane designed for use from Kriegsmarine warships of the 1930s.
Of conventional configuration, the He 60 was a sturdy aircraft, designed (as the specification required) to be capable of operating on the open sea.
The aircraft was replaced first by the Heinkel He 114 in service, then soon after by the Arado Ar 196.

Heinkel He 70 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Heinkel He 70 Blitz was designed in the early 1930s to serve as a fast mailplane for Deutsche Lufthansa.
The He 70 is known mainly as the direct ancestor of the famous Heinkel He 111 which used its distinctive oval wings and streamlined fuselage in a twin-engine configuration.
Heinkel's pioneering design was also a model for the Heinkel He 112 fighter which competed unsuccessfully against the Messerschmitt Bf 109 to become the Luftwaffe's first monoplane fighter.

 The Heinkel He-162 Volksjaeger
However, Heinkel had been working on a similar concept for several months, and was able to respond quickly with a proposal with the company designation "P.1073".
Final assembly was to be at the Heinkel plant in Marienhe, the Junkers plant at Bernberg, and in the infamous underground slave-labor factory near Nordhausen in the Harz Mountains, known as "Mittelwerk (Central Works)".
Heinkel also built two prototypes of the "He-162S" tandem-seat training glider, in accordance with the lunatic scheme to provide pilots for the fighter using Hitler Youth.

 The Heinkel He-162 Volksjaeger
Heinkel lobbied harder than Blohm and Voss and won the competition at the end of September.
Their Volksjaeger concept was a neat, sporty-looking little aircraft, with a sleek streamlined fuselage; the BMW-003 engine carried in a nacelle on the back of the aircraft; twin tailfins, to clear the jet exhaust; a high-mounted straight wing with a shallow dihedral; and tricycle landing gear that retracted into the fuselage.
Final assembly was to be at the Heinkel plant in Marienhe, the Junkers plant at Bernberg, and in the infamous SS underground slave-labor factory near Nordhausen in the Harz Mountains, known as "Mittelwerk (Central Works)".

Info about the Heinkel He-162 Salamander Volksjager German Jet Fighter
Since Heinkel was already evolved a similar project some months earlier, a design proposal was quickly drafted and submitted to the Technical Office within a matter of days.
The difficult terms of this complex equation were entirely solved by Heinkel, although the disastrous conditions that existed in Germany during the final months of the war actually prevented the ambitious production program from being carried out.
When the first prototype took to the air from Heinkel's field at ViennaSchwechat, a structural failure was revealed (due to the breakage of one of the covers of the landing gear housing) probably caused by a welding error.

Josef Kammhuber, commander of night fighters, the RLM asked Heinkel to redesign the P.1060 as a radar-equipped night fighter.
Production was delayed when RAF raids on Heinkel's Rostock and Vienna-Schwechat factories destroyed nearly all of the drawings in March and April 1943.
Despite the aircraft's successes, Erhard Milch, another Heinkel opponent who was chief of aircraft procurement and supply, persuaded the RLM in May 1944 to cancel the whole program.

 Arado Ar 196A-5
When the Third Reich came to power in 1933, the Kreigsmarine (German Navy) was equipped with the Heinkel He 60 biplane.
An interim type, the Heinkel He 114, had poor water-handling characteristics and only slightly better performance in flight than the He 60.
Heinkel choose to continue trying to improve the He 114 but Arado, Dornier, Gotha, and Focke-Wulf responded to the specification.

In June 1943, the RLM issued a different specification for a two seat bomber with a bombload of 2000 kg (4409 lbs) and a speed of 800 km/h (497 mph) over a range of 2500 km (1554 miles).
Some of this design work was later used for the Heinkel He 343.
The second P.1068.01 design was basically the same as the first design (He P.1068.01-78), except six jet engines were to be mounted on the wing leading edge.

Blohm und Voss submitted a competing proposal, the "P.211", a much more advanced design that looked forward to the next generation of swept-winged jet fighters, such as the F-86 Sabre and the MiG-15.
Although pulsejets, unlike ramjets, can in principle produce static thrust, the Argus pulsejets didn't produce enough power at low speeds for takeoff, and so various launch schemes were considered, ranging from towplanes to catapults to the most intelligent solution, a rocket-assisted takeoff booster unit.

As soon as possible, the Luftwaffe replaced the Heinkel with the Junkers Ju 88, reassigning the Heinkel to night operations and other specialized tasks until, by war's end, it was being used primarily as a transport.
In service with the Luftwaffe from 1937 to 1945, the Heinkels remained in Spanish service until 1965.
One of the more bizarre adaptations of the Heinkel by the Luftwaffe was the He 111 Z-1, in which two He 111s were joined at the wing with a special section containing a fifth engine.

While the Roc carried no forward-firing armament, it could carry a 250-lb bomb under each wing, and an additional load of light bombs on a "light series carrier." The extra weight of the turret made it even slower than the Skua.
One Roc, sent to intercept a Heinkel He-60 seaplane used in the Channel for air rescue was incapable of catching even this slow biplane.
While the Roc was designed to use floats earlier used by the Blackburn Shark, only four Rocs were modified this way and it was found the flying qualities of the float-equipped Roc with floats fitted was poor, even with the later fitting of a large dorsal fin for added stability.
