Helen Foster Barham was born into a family of English immigrants and decided at a young age that she wanted to be on the stage.
Shipman often did her own stunt work and this was the case in The Trail of the Arrow (1920), where with skill and daring her character drove an Essex car across the Mojave Desert while overcoming many dangerous situations from behind the wheel.
Shipman spent the rest of her life writing short stories, novels and screenplays but was never able to earn a comfortable living or achieve professional success again.

Shipman was convicted at Preston crown court in January 2000 of killing 15 elderly patients with lethal injections of diamorphine.

She said the report sets out as complete and accurate an account of Shipman's criminality as she believes it will be ever possible for anyone (other than Shipman) to give.

The Shipman Inquiry - Sixth Report - APPENDIX F - Georgina Francis   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-25)
She recalls Shipman saying that he was going to give her an injection for her pain, although he did not say which drug he was going to use, nor did he inform Mrs Francis of his diagnosis.
I agree that the fact that Shipman did not enter the diamorphine injection in the medical records and added it as an afterthought to the letter of referral suggests that Shipman might have wished to conceal the fact that he had given diamorphine.
I cannot say what Shipman thought about Mrs Francis but, as I have said, there is no hint in the records that Shipman thought she was a nuisance and it does not appear to me from her records that her attendances were more frequent than those of many other patients of her age.
