Manhattan Plaza at 42nd Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues was built in the 1970s to house the artists.
Singer and Actress Lisa Velez is a Hell's Kitchen native.

In my dream, Moses was walking the streets of Hells Kitchen - sorry, Midtown West - with me. I don't know where he went after he died in 1981, but I guess they didn't have limos there.
Moses told me he came back because he was so happy that Hells Kitchen was finally going to be wiped off the map, just like all the other neighborhoods he got rid of while he engineered the city's massive urban renewal programs.

My second day in New York I was supposed to meet Jeannette & Mark in Hells Kitchen for lunch but I accidentally took the wrong train out of Hoboken, where I was staying with Jessica, and ended up at Pavonia/Newport farther in to Jersey instead of Christopher Street in Manhattan.
By the time I got on the right train, got to Christopher Street and took a cab up to meet them, I was like a half hour late.
