Sources of GIS Defense and Foreign Affairs confirmed on July 7, 2005 claims that the head of the Greek civil intelligence service in Kosovo and Metohija, the Hellenic National Security Agency (HNIS), was murdered by members of the Kosovo Liberation Army in Pristina in May 2005.
As he was standing in the entrance of the house where he lived, the Greek intelligence officer was approached by another man who asked him what time it was in Serbian.
The same sources identified the murdered officer only by the initials GK and said he was 41 years old.
