If you are considering buying this movie because you love the hellraiser series, DON'T. I doubt pinhead even has seven minutes of screen time, this is a movie that has NOTHING to do with the true hellraiser series.
This is NOT a Hellraiser film but instead a horror film that someone wrote Pinhead into.
No, it isn't a true Hellraiser film in my eyes, but if you look over that then you'll find a pretty terrifying flick.

Regardless, Hellraiser was one of the few British-made horror films of the 1980s (though there were notable exceptions such as Neil Jordan’s splendid The Company of Wolves, based on a series of stories by Angela Carter).
But whatever sins the Hellraiser franchise must atone for, Barker’s original film is still a dark, potent, daringly original exercise in the joys of perversity and pain.
Hellraiser is filled with macabre imagery: one of the Cenobites pieces together fragments of a human face as if it were a jigsaw puzzle; Kirsty solves the puzzle box herself, conjuring up the Cenobites; the still skinless Frank smokes a cigarette in the attic of the house (juxtaposing the surreal and the mundane).

JoBlo reviews the movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors"
"Nightmare" 3 is not the best horror film ever made (The Shining is) and although this film is probably the second best in the series it fails to scare me. The first "nightmare" was excellent and firmly established the sub genre of fantasy/horror making way for other films such as the "Hellraiser" series.
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is the second best of the series and I especially liked the song at the beginning of the film.

This mythos, although subject to minute variation throughout the film series, is rooted in the classic Greek myth of the tale of the Minotaur and the Maze.
As a source for deriving a static mythos, however, the most recent film sheds no real light and violates all of the rules found in the Leviathanic Mythos, thus, while discussed in the second section of results, it will not be included in the analysis as a core mythic film.
At the center of the Hellraiser mythos is its "God", a creature known as Leviathan.

The Film Asylum - Nightbreed film review
So "Nightbreed" may have a more traditional (and rather thin) story and, although the human characters aren't exactly the nicest, this time the gore did not get in the way of my enjoyment here (not that gore bothers me these days, I just find that it still gets in the way in the "Hellraiser" series).
Nightbreed is one of those films like "Big Trouble in Little China" or "Flesh + Blood" that received little fanfare on initial release, but happens to be a worthwhile film.
Those films had so much gore and sadomasochistic themes that I found them hard to enjoy, especially when the characters were often so repugnant and cold.
