Hendrik Bouman made his conducting debut in the world première of the Mass by Alain Pièrard in the Basilique de Notre Dame, Montréal Canada in 1985.
Several CDs of Hendrik Bouman in recital on harpsichord and fortepiano, presenting both his solo compositions as well as some of his favourite repertoire of the great masters, are in preparation with The Classical Muse for release in Spring 2005.

In 1993, Hendrik began writing new music in the old style, for him a natural development of the ongoing revival of the performance of Baroque music.
This music was first debuted in South Africa in 1994 and, since that time, Hendrik has written over 75 complete works, some of which have been broadcast by CBC, Radio France, and Radio Canada, as well as having been performed live by prominent soloists and his own Concerto Felice ensemble.
