Sir Heneage Finch (1628-1689) of Eastwell, Kent, was the 3rd Earl of Winchilsea.
Finch was the nephew of Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Nottingham.
Lord Finch was appointed by his friend earl of Arbermale (General Monk) a Governor of Dover Castle, and Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports in the July of 1660, also Lord Lieutenant of Kent and afterwards ambassador the Ottoman Empire and served in this capacity from between 1660-69.

Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Nottingham (23 December 1621–1682), Lord Chancellor of England, was descended from an old family, many of whose members had attained to high legal eminence, and was the eldest son of Sir Heneage Finch, recorder of London, by his first wife Frances, daughter of Sir Edmund Bell of Beauprh Hall, Norfolk.
In the register of Oxford University he is entered as born in Kent, and probably his native place was Eastwell in that county.
He was created Baron Finch in 1674 and Earl of Nottingham in May 1681.

 Daniel Finch, 2nd Earl of Nottingham
Daniel Finch, 7th Earl of Winchilsea, 2nd Earl of Nottingham (2 July 1647-1 January 1730), son of Heneage Finch, 1st Earl of Nottingham, entered parliament for Lichfield in 1679.
He was one of the privy councillors who in 1685 signed the order for the proclamation of the duke of York, but during the whole of the reign of James II he kept away from the court.
He succeeded to the Earldom of Winchilsea (with which the Nottingham title now became united) on 9 September 1729, and died on the 1 January 1730.
