	Henjo Richter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Henjo Richter, born in November, 24th 1963 in Hamburg, Germany, is a guitarist in Gamma Ray, the German Power Metal band formed by Kai Hansen.
		Henjo is a self-taught musician and started playing at the age of 13.
		In 2001 Henjo was hired by Tobias Sammet to play guitar on his Avantasia project.

		When Roland left Rampage, he was replaced by guitarist Henjo Richter and took Kai Hansen's place in Helloween.
		After a few years, Henjo Richter joined Gamma Ray, which was the band Kai Hansen created after he left Helloween.

		I was particularly taken by the guitar work on here, the tracks laid down by Henjo Richter are mind blowing, as are the leads that he dishes out, particularly the riveting twin guitar lead on Chalice of Agony.
		There is alot of emotion in the vocal performance, and Richter's solo uses all the precise notes to make the guitar sing as a voice rather than a highly embellished harpsichord line befitting of a shred fest.
		Henjo Richter, known from the famous act Gamma Ray, does the lead guitar on this album and with outstanding skill, although I think his solo's could be more varied, but they were written by master Tobias Sammet himself, so I have no reason to blame Richter.

		Taking over vocal chores on the now historic Land Of The Free, Hansen proved he could deliver the goods on the mic as well as the guitar.
		After the loss of Rubach and Nack, co-guitarist Dirk Schlachter took over the bass duties, and Hansen also hired Rampage guitarist Henjo Richter and drummer Dan Zimmermann.
