Henlys Group PLC was a car dealer that became a major player in the bus and coach business in both North America and England.
In 1989, Henlys and Coleman Milne were sold to the Plaxton Group, the bus and coach manufacturer based in Scarborough, Yorkshire.
In May 1992, the Plaxton Group PLC was renamed as Henlys Group PLC.

In 1989 Plaxtons bought Henlys, a company that included motor dealers and Coleman Milne, makers of funeral hearses.
In May 1992, after a management shake-up, the company was renamed Henlys Group PLC.
An initial offer from the Plaxton management to buy the coach segment of the company was rejected by the receiver, but was later accepted when a group of private investors agreed to buy the Alexander Dennis portion of the company.

HENLYS, the bus builder, yesterday attacked the Government's transport policy as it drove in with a 21pc fall in full-year profits before tax to £24.2m.
