	THE MAKING OF A COUP - June 20th, 1988
		Lt-Gen. Henri Namphy, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, summons Colonel Jean-Claude Paul, Commander of the Casernes Dessalines battalion, and announces him of his transfer from the Casernes to the Army headquarters as service officer.
		A meeting is set between Manigat, Namphy, Williams Regala, former brigadier general and member of the National Council of Government where he occupied the post of Minister of Defense (a position confirmed under the Manigat-Celestin government).
		Namphy boards one armored vehicle with his wife and daughter, and the convoy sets for the Palace.

		The President today met with Henri Namphy, President of the National Council of the Government of Haiti, in the Oval Office.
		President Namphy later met with Vice President Bush.
		President Namphy described the progress achieved so far in implementing the 2-year political calendar that calls for a referendum on a new constitution in February 1987; local, legislative, and Presidential elections during 1987; and the inauguration of a duly elected President in February 1988.
