Henri Pescarolo was a Formula One driver from France.
During the 5 years that Pescarolo has campaigned [French race car manufacturer] Courage C60 prototypes, so many modifications have been made to the model that Courage allowed the team to name the car after themselves, such was the differences between their model and the standard C60.
Pescarolo holds the record for Le Mans starts with 33 and has won the race on four occasions as a driver.

Once again Henri Pescarolo chose advanced space technology to make his Le Mans racer lighter and faster, and once again his decision proved to be a winner.
After 51 laps the second Pescarolo driver, Erik Comas, took over and continued in the lead until an accident between two other cars led to Comas losing valuable minutes as he was slowed down by the safety car and fell into second position.

According to what Pescarolo has later reported, the bodywork/wings in the front were flexing too much at high speeds, which suddenly allowed for the air to enter under the car, lifting it from the track.
Apparently Robert Choulet was (at the time) very annoyed with Henri Pescarolo, whom he regarded as having destroyed 'his' car, by taking it to full-throttle, rather than progressively building up speed.
It was new to me however, that de relationship between Henri Pescarolo and Robert Choulet should have taken such a downturn.

Henri Pescarolo (born September 25, 1942) is a former Formula One driver from France.
After Pescarolo's retirement from Formula 1, he went on to start his own team which now competes in the Le Mans Endurance Series, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which he won as a driver in 1972 in a Matra, co-driven by Graham Hill.

For Pescarolo engineers André de Cortanze and Claude Galopin it was particularly important to verify that the effort to make the cars more aerodynamic through the use of the new space composite materials on the C60 Peugeot had borne fruit.
The performance to weight ratio, which is vital in Le Mans, persuaded the Pescarolo Sport team to use hi-tech carbon composite materials, the same material employed in satellite construction, to construct the racing car.
