Henry Dearborn (February 23, 1751 – June 6, 1829) was an American physician, statesman and veteran of both the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.
Dearborn joined Washington’s staff in 1781 as deputy quartermaster general with the rank of colonel, and was present when Cornwallis surrendered after the Battle of Yorktown.
Dearborn was honorably discharged from the army on June 15, 1815.

DEARBORN, HENRY (Feb. 23, 1751-June 6, 1829), soldier, secretary of war, and congressman from Massachusetts, was born at Hampton, N. H., the son of Simon Dearborn and his wife Sarah Marston.
Dearborn’s request for a court of inquiry went unheeded, but he was given command of New York City and was later appointed president of the court martial which tried and condemned Gen. Hull -- a most improper appointment, since Dearborn's negligence had contributed to bring about Hull’s defeat.
Dearborn was thrice married: to Mary Bartlett in 1771; to Dorcas (Osgood) Marble in 1780; and to Sarah Bowdoin, widow of James Bowdoin, in 1813.

Henry Alexander Scammell Dearborn (March 3, 1783 – July 29, 1851) was an American lawyer, author, statesman and soldier.
He was born in Exeter, New Hampshire, the son of Henry Dearborn by his second wife and named for his father's friend Alexander Scammel.
He attended the common schools and went to Williams College for two years and then graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1803.

[Richardson-Batchelder.FTW] Henry Dearborn, a soldier, was born in North Hampton, N.H., Feb. 23, 1751; son of Simeon and Sarah (Marston), grandson of John and Abigail (Batchelder), great-grandson of Henry and great-great-grandson of Godfrey Dearborn, who emigrated from Exeter, England, in 1639.
Alexander Scammell was made adjutant-general on the staff of Washington, Colonel Dearborn was made deputy quartermaster-general with the rank of colonel, and accompanied Washington to Yorktown, where he served during the siege and was present at the surrender of Cornwallis.
Henry was a child when he came to America with his family, was about six years old when the family moved from Boston, MA to Exeter, NH, and was about fourteen to sixteen years old when the family moved from Exeter to Hampton, NH, where he lived the rest of his life.

In 1775, having committed himself to the patriot cause, Alexander was chosen by Congress to command the New Jersey militia.
Later released in a prisoner exchange, Alexander rejoined the army and fought at the Battle of Trenton in December 1776.
While in Albany, Alexander suffered a severe attack of gout and died on January 15, 1783 at the age of 56.
