HENRY FRANCIS CARY (1772-1844), English author and translator, was born at Gibraltar on the 6th of December 1772, the son of a captain in the army.
Soon afterwards Cary moved to London, where he became reader at Berkeley chapel, and subsequently lecturer at Chiswick and curate of the Savoy.
Cary's Lives of the early French Poets, and Lives of English Poets (from Johnson to Henry Kirke White), intended as a continuation of Johnson's Lives of the Poets, were published in a collected form in 1846.

Henry Francis Cary (December 6, 1772 - August 14, 1844) was an English author and translator.
He was born at Gibraltar, the son of an army captain, and was educated at the grammar schools of Rugby, Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham, and at Christ Church College, Oxford, which he entered in 1790.

Edward Henry Cary, physician, medical educator, and civic leader, son of Joseph Milton and Lucy Janette (Powell) Cary, was born in Union Springs, Alabama, on February 28, 1872.
The former was founded in 1903 after Cary gained control of the financially troubled University of Dallas Medical Department and persuaded Baylor University to make this proprietary institution the nucleus of a school of medicine.
In 1949, at Cary's instigation, the school became associated with the University of Texas.

Henry “Howard” Cary was born in Los Angeles in 1908 and graduated from the California Institute of Technology in 1930.
Cary and Beckman disagreed on fundamental development issues relating to the DU spectrophotometer, with Beckman insisting on a single-beam instrument and Cary favoring a double-beam, high-end scanning and recording instrument.
One of the many instruments that Cary pioneered was the Raman spectrophotometer, smaller and easier to use than earlier models as well as one of the first instruments designed to record spectropolimetry and circular dichroism.
