Henry Cisneros served as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 1993 to 1997, under President Clinton.
After working as a professor of environmental studies and a city councilor in his native San Antonio, in 1981 Cisneros was elected mayor, becoming the first Hispanic to serve as mayor of a major U.S. city.
Cisneros pleaded guilty in 1999 to a misdemeanor count of lying to the FBI.
