Sir Henry Harwood Harwood (1888-01-19 (London) - 1950-06-09 (Goring-on-Thames)), British naval officer who won fame in the Battle of the River Plate.
Son of late Surtees Harwood Harwood, Ashmans Hall, Suffolk.
In the 1956 film The Battle of the River Plate, Harwood was played by Anthony Quayle.

It appears that it was during this period of his education that Henry Harwood's interest in Mineralogy began to develop, an interest which was to remain prominent throughout the rest of his life, and for which he was always grateful to the University of Manchester.
Harwood carried on and intensified the emphasis on analytical chemistry in the Undergraduate laboratory course (inorganic) and tried to ensure that every chemist was a proficient analyst.
Harwood was intending to return to what he referred to as his "hills and dales of my native parts" of North Lancashire, but never did and died on 14th October 1974 at the age of eighty-eight.

On the 13 December at about 0600 hours the HMS Exeter sighted smoke and at 0614 reported that she thought that it was a pocket battleship.
The pursuit continued until the Ajax reported that she was low on ammunition so Harwood ordered both of the smaller cruisers to resume the role of shadowing the Graf Spree at a distance of about 15 miles away.
Harwood then changed his tactics and shortly before the Graf Spree was set to leave the Harbour a British merchantmen left the harbour.

Prior to February 7, 2003, investigating officers from the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force in Helena working with law enforcement officers at Glacier County, determined that a female co-defendant would be transporting a load of methamphetamine from Helena to northwestern Montana for distribution.
  HARWOOD used the telephone to communicate and facilitate the distribution of methamphetamine at various locations in the District of Montana, which included the Browning and Helena areas.
