Henry Douglas King PC CB CBE DSO MP After leaving Conway he joined the Drake Batallion of the Royal Naval Division and fought at Cape Helles in the Dardenelles campaign for which he was awarded the DSO.
He was Financial Secretary to the War Office, Secretary to the Mines Department of the Board Of Trade.
He is best known as the Master of Carpathia and rescuer of nearly 700 Titanic survivors on the morning of April 15th 1912.
