  Sir Henry Moncrieff Wellwood
WELLWOOD, (SIR) HENRY MONCRIEFF, BARONET, D.D., an eminent divine, was born at Blackford, near Stirling, in February, 1750.
The subsequent life of Sir Henry Moncrieff, though remarkable for an exemplary and unwearied diligence in the discharge of the laborious duties of his office, and for a continued display, on his part, of every excellence and virtue which can adorn the human character, presents little of which the biographer can avail himself.
"The Rev. Sir Henry Moncrieff Wellwood, whose death and character have been brought before the Assembly, was elected to be the general collector of the fund for the widows and children of this church, in 1784, and continued to discharge, till his death, the duties of that important office.

Sir Henry Raeburn (March 4, 1756 - July 8, 1823) was a Scottish portrait-painter.
Sir Walter Scott, Hugh Blair, Henry Mackenzie, Woodhouselee, Robertson, John Home, Robert Fergusson, and Dugald Stewart were resident in Edinburgh, and they were all painted by Raeburn.
Mature works include his own portrait and that of the Rev. Sir Henry Moncrieff Wellwood[?], the bust of Dr Wardrop of Torbane Hill, the two full-lengths of Adam Rolland of Gask, the remarkable paintings of Lord Newton and Dr Alexander Adam[?] in the National Gallery of Scotland, and that of William Macdonald of St Martin's.

RAEBURN, SIR HENRY (1756-1823), Scottish portrait-painter, was born at Stockbridge, a suburb of Edinburgh, on the 4th of March 1756, the son of a manufacturer of the city.
Soon he took to the production of carefully finished miniatures; and, meeting with success and patronage, he extended his practice to oil-painting, being all the while quite self-taught.
But the leading work on the subject, and the most splendidly illustrated, is Sir Henry Raeburn by Sir Walter Armstrong, with an introduction by R. Stevenson and a biographical and descriptive catalogue by J. Caw (19or).

Through a combination of the unique Scottish legal system and a hatred of the Tory government of the day, Burke and MacDougall were defended by the two great Whig lawyers Sir James Wellwood Moncrieff and Lord Henry Cockburn without fee.
Moncrieff and Cockburn denounced this as shameful and denounced the Lord Advocate for finding one party guilty whilst letting other parties (the Hare's) involved in the crime go free.
Rae stood by the Hare's however and even blocked a private prosecution brought against the pair for the murder of "Daft Jamie" by one of his relatives.
