  Henschel Hs 293 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Henschel Hs 293 was a World War II German anti-shipping guided missile, a radio-controlled glide bomb with a rocket engine slung underneath it.
The intention was that it could be launched from a bomber at sufficient distance to be out of range of anti-aircraft fire.
Henschel developed it the following year to add a rocket motor underneath it to allow it to be used from lower altitude and to increase the range.

Born August 9, 1920, Milton Henschel relocated to Brooklyn, New York, as a teenager in 1934 when his father, Herman George Henschel, moved to the area to work on construction projects in the printeries and residence building for Jehovah's Witnesses.
Milton Henschel is survived by his wife, Lucille, and by his brother, Warren.

The Henschel Hs 127 was a German bomber aircraft that was built as two prototypes, but cancelled without entering mass production.
Junkers, Focke-Wulf, Messerschmitt and Henschel all submitted designs.
According to RLM specifications, the plane was to be able to maintain a speed of 500 km/h (313 mph) for 30 minutes, take-off to a height of 20 metres (65 ft) in not more than 750 metres (2,460 ft), and carry one defensive machine gun and 500-800 kg (1,100-1,760 lb) of bombs.
