  General information about Heosemys grandis
In contrast to most turtle species (sub-)adult female grandises are on average smaller than males, and have a shorter tail.
Heosemys spinosa is smaller and has spines all over the shell.
Heosemys grandis are reported to carry Entamoeba invadens, a common amoebic protozoan; and Falcaustra kinsellai.
