Hephaestos raises both hands and the ground quakes beneath her feet; a jagged shard of metal explodes up, hovering before her hands, about the size of her arms and double the thickness.
Hephaestos claps her hands together and the shard hits the opponent as it explodes in a haze of nasty jagged metal pieces.
Hephaestos was the God of the Forge, the son of Zeus and Hera; he was a crippled, ugly thing, but an expert craftsman and he made all the tools for the Gods.

While Hephaestos' block was against policy, I believe Hcheney, in that he honestly didn't know that he was violating policy.
Michael Snow 06:17, 4 Jul 2004 (UTC) I also think Hephaestos acted in good faith, but was rather hasty in imposing the original block because he was happy to have an excuse to block Lir.
Guanaco 06:22, 4 Jul 2004 (UTC) Hcheney probably thought it was within policy and that the unblocking was similar to that of unblocking the account User:Michael.

 Temenos Olympicos: Hephaestos
Hephaestos is tied closely to two of Olympus' great powers.
As the lame God of Olympus, Hephaestos bears another very intersting message for us, and that is that all men must be judged on their abilities and not simply on their appearance.
Lame and ugly as Hephaestos was said to be, no one could ever clame that he was anything other than a master at his craft, and this applies so readily today, especially here in America where the shallowness of our culture often leaves me in shock.

Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/User:Guanaco versus User:Lir - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For what it is worth, the ban several days later by Hephaestos is more serious -- firstly, Guanaco's illegitmate reason was that he felt I was a sockpuppet; Hephaestos' reason was even worse: he banned me solely because I objected to denying a user the promotion to sysop, solely because the user is a "troll".
05:22, 3 Jul 2004 Hephaestos blocked "Lir" with an expiry time of 30 days (Admitting to trolling), a block for expressing the unpopular opinion that "trolling was no barrier to being a sysop" which Hephaestos considered, "Admitting to trolling".
Accordingly Hephaestos is instructed to only use blocks in clear-cut cases, and given a second warning.
