		Rarebell not only played drums for the Scorpions, he wrote the lyrics to many of their biggest hits, including the granddaddy of them all "Rock You Like a Hurricane." In 1996, Rarebell left the performing side of music for the business side – a move that didn’t end up as good as his drumming gig.
		Herman: After 20 years with the Scorpions, I took a break but eventually the desire to comeback and play was so strong that I couldn’t deny it any longer.
		Herman: It depends, for example, I wrote the lyrics and the music at the same time for the song "Another Piece of Meat." That was a real thing that happened to me in Japan.

		Towards the end of 1983 there was heavy media speculation that Rarebell and Bucholz were out and RAINBOW's rhythm section of drummer Bobby Rondinelli and bassist Jimmy Bain were in.
		Indeed, the band did admit that Bain and Rondinelli had recorded tracks for the new 'Love At First Sting album' in Stockholm, Sweden, prior to switching back to Dierks German studio once more with Herman Rarebell and Francis Bucholz.

		SCORPIONS drummer released what was generally acknowledged to be a very poor attempt at a solo album, which despite featuring a plethora of known musicians and production by Ric Browde, was weighed down by dull songs.
		The two albums, 'Nip In The Bud' and 'Herman Ze German And Friends', are essentially the same but the latter release has completely re-recorded vocals and a re-mix courtesy of Michael Wagener.
		The track 'I'll Say Goodbye' was co-written with DOKKEN mainman Don Dokken.
