HERMOSA, Bataan: An official of the Transmission Corp. of the Philippines on Wednesday appealed for pilferage of transmission lines to stop as it endangers lives besides causing serious power outages during typhoons.
Billy Loyola, TransCo Bataan manager, said inspections of steel towers revealed that parts of the steel towers were cut off and missing, and immediate repairs were made to prevent the structure from collapsing during the storm.
He noted though that pilferage remains to be common occurrence in the towns of Abucay and Bagac in Bataan where transmission lines cut through rice fields and forested areas.
