Hernando Siles province, Chuquisaca department (19º 48' S - 64º 04' W) Cornelio Saavedra province, Potosi department (19º 33' S - 65º 26' W) Description of affected population in the new outbreaks: animal production in the area is based on extensive, family-run farms with scant infrastructure.
The disease was introduced into Potosí department by a livestock salesman who transported 16 head of cattle to the livestock show in Villa el Carmen in Cornelio Saavedra province, leaving 10 head of cattle at the said show and taking 6 to Betanzos livestock show.
Mode of spread: rural paths, purchase of susceptible animals without animal health certification, movement of people from “wharves” (place of embarkation and disembarkation of animals in transit where animals are weighed for buying and selling) to their farms, and contact between sick animals and healthy animals in the area (Monteagudo).

As indicated in the immediate notification report, all of the rabbits on the affected premises were euthanised and properly disposed of.
Description of affected population in the new outbreaks: all outbreaks occurred in family holdings, except one outbreak in March in a research institute in Canelones Department.
