Herr Meets Hare - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Herr Meets Hare is a 1945 Merrie Melodies cartoon directed by Friz Freleng.
As with many of the World War Two-themed cartoons put out by the major studios, Herr meets Hare was placed under an unofficial ban from broadcast or video distribution by Warner Brothers and other rights-holders (including Turner Broadcasting and AOL Time-Warner).
AOL Time-Warner refused to allow the broadcast of Herr meets Hare, on the grounds that the cartoon was offensive as it dealt with the Nazis in a joking manner.

Soooo the wonderful Wagner sequence in "Herr Meets Hare" was a natural for him, whereas I can't think of Chuck playing any instruments...
Everyone seems to forget this, perhaps because Herr Meets Hare has not been played over and over and over again endlessly on TV (like the Jones' classic), due to the cartoon's war thematics, politically-incorrect caricatures, and topical references.
Sooooo with that in mind we'd have to think of "Herr Meets Hare" as being written by Friz Freleng and Michael Maltese and Tedd Pierce...

It was finally broadcast in its entirety in July, 2001, on a special episode of the Cartoon Network's program "Toonheads" focusing on World War 2 cartoons.
It is now in very limited circulation, as the episode is rebroadcast as part of the normal run of "Toonheads." "Herr meets Hare" is not being broadcast at any other time on Cartoon Network.

Sicilian Culture: The News: Banned War-Era Bugs Bunny Cartoons to be Shown 'In Context'
One cartoon cut from the "June Bugs" marathon, "Herr Meets Hare," is included in its entirety in "Wartime." Another, "Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips," is shown in partial clips, along with the Popeye cartoon "Scrap the Japs."
"Herr Meets Hare" is relatively innocuous, other than featuring a fat, bumbling Nazi and a brief appearance by a buffoonish Hitler at the end.
Cartoon Network already has another special in the works, "The Twelve Missing Hares," focusing exclusively on those 12 cartoons that were barred from the "June Bugs" marathon.

"Herr meets Hare" Hermann Goering heads to the Black Forest for rest and relaxation; because of a wrong turn in Albuquerque, so does Bugs, who encounters "Fatso" while trying to get to Las Vegas.
Some of the cartoons -- most notably "Draftee Daffy" and "Falling Hare" -- are virtually timeless and often appear on television today, while others -- such as "The Weakly Reporter" and "Russian Rhapsody" -- are interesting from a historical standpoint ("Fifth Column Mouse" was especially fascinating as a none-too-subtle fable about the failure of appeasement).

Some of the cartoons don't have the original title cards, but that's because no known ones exist, because some of the title cards were changed in the 1950s.

"Falling Hare" and "Russian Rhapsody" are the two where Bugs fights Gremlins, and neither is on either set.

Soon enough, we were at the hotel.
