The statutes stipulated that mass be said several times annually for his soul, suggesting that, like many others of the time, he felt that the establishment would help to atone for past sins.

 1348
In the early fourteenth century founding of colleges took over from founding of monasteries, hospitals and friaries as the aim of men and women of means looking for permanent homes for their charity.
The men were largely ministers and civil servants - Hervey de Stanton, chancellor of the exchequer, who founded Michaelhouse, now part of Trinity, and rebuilt St Michael's church to be college chapel and parish church combined, is a characteristic example.
Elizabeth de Clare refounded and renamed Clare in 1338; the countess of Pembroke plucked King Edward III's sleeve for permission to found Pembroke on Christmas Eve 1347; permission for Edmund Gonville's foundation was granted at the end of January 1348; Trinity Hall followed in 1350, Corpus in 1353.

The heirs of Levi Jackson were not listed by name in the probate records; however, the deed records show that on 29 August, 1854, Allen W. Jackson, of Robertson County, purchased, from Micajah Crenshaw, as administrator of estate of Levi Jackson, for $170, 224 acres on the waters of Duck Creek.
On that same date, Josiah Jackson (whom we know to be a brother of Allen W. Jackson) purchased two tracts of land (amount and acreage not stated) on Duck Creek, branch of the Navasoto River, in Robertson County from Micajah Crenshaw.
Implications of the land sale are that there may have been a sixth child, or that the estate was not divided into exact numbers of acres, some land perhaps being more valuable than other land and a juggling of numbers might have ensued.
