 | | In 1632, during the battle over Nurnberg in the "Thirty Years War", the environs of the city were almost completely destroyed. Herzogenaurach was lucky, since the town had already fallen into Swedish hands in February of that year and for that reason, the heart of the town was saved from destruction. |
 | | Despite the closeness of the Luftwaffe' Air Base (To become ASA Herzo Base in 1947), Herzogenaurach did not suffer from destruction during World War II, except for the bridge which was destroyed by retreating German Troops. |
