Our kind of Lotus position | The Car Enthusiast |   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-12)
The Hethel test track is overlooked on one side by the sprawling factory and engineering buildings and on the other by a farmer's field (mental note to self as we look around: plenty of run-off...).
Hethel is certainly a challenge to drive, but flowing, and wide enough to push a car up to and beyond its limits safely.
Hethel is used these days for driver training as well as car development, so gone is the inviting right-left chicane ahead of the North Hairpin.

Dashing around the Hethel test track in both the famous Series 2 Elise 111S and this Toyota Elise, the differences are there.

Another new Hethel supercar will be launched about a year later, in 2007, to fill the price gap between the Elise and Esprit.
