Prairie style homes typically have a low pitched roof with overhanging eaves, strong horizontal lines (so the building appears to lie close and horizontally to the ground, always appearing lower than it actually is), a central chimney, and open floor plan.

Undoubtedly the current "pseudo restoration" of the Davenport House will receive many awards, achieve much recognition and be lauded as a success by many of the established preservation organizations, such as the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust, and the National Trust.
Those organizations have lauded other bungled restorations of Wright designed homes in the past -- such as the internationally famous Robie House in Chicago and the Heurtley House in Oak Park Illinois, another well known Wright design -- though neither "restorations" were nearly as outrageous as this.
Note: The Arthur Davenport House is just down the street from the River Forest Women's Club building, which is also about to undergo an unfortunate and fateful rehabilitation.

In 1994, the congregation of the church united with another local religious organization and the entire building is now referred to as Unity Temple.

The Freeman House is tiny, at least from the street.
I was a passenger in a car trying to find a residence in the northside of Chicago recently and saw the Hills house while just driving by.
It jumps out at you, there is no mistaking that it is something special even though it is roughly the same size and dimensions as the neighboring homes.
