 Hey Jude - Classic Rock
"Hey Jude" is perhaps the crowning glory of the Beatles as a cohesive band.
Hey Jude, running 7:09 minutes was the first single recording to break the approximate 3 minute barrier common on single releases.
Hey Jude gained market popularity because it delivered repetitive lyrics that were easy to learn giving wing to sing-along involvement by listeners.

Bing Crosby : Hey Jude/Hey Bing! - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
"Hey Jude" is delightfully clueless and secured itself a spot on two of the future Golden Throats compilations (a series of ironic packages of kitschy celebrity recordings) for Crosby's off-handed delivery and awkward revision of the song's climactic melody (the soulful "nah-nah-nah" becomes the mannered "pom-pom-pom").
The rest of the album is filled out with limp country-pop numbers that range from passable ("Little Green Apples") to absolutely awful ("Lonely Street"), and producer Jimmy Bowen's syrupy strings and glossy background chorus do nothing to enliven the singer's apparent disinterest in the material.
Reportedly, Crosby himself considered the album to be one of his worst, an opinion not likely to be disputed by anyone who explores this audible generation gap.

Hey, Jude sounds a little Beatles-esque, and although I’m not a fan of those mop top Liverpool natives, I was quite taken with Jude’s introspective third album King Of Yesterday.
Jude grew up outside of Boston, the son of a folk singer father who, of course, encouraged Jude’s artsy side.
Jude freely admits on his official Web site that the album is definitely more commercial than his previous efforts.

Hey Jude (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hey Jude album offered Capitol an opportunity to create a compilation album out of songs that had not been previously released on a Capitol album in the United States.
In part this was a consequence of the Beatles' unwillingness to include single releases on their contemporaneous albums, and partially it was a consequence of Capitol's habit of recompiling The Beatles' Parlophone releases for the American market.
Originally, the album was to be named The Beatles Again, as if to indicate that the record was a sequel to "The White Album," which was officially titled, The Beatles.

Paul also says, "Hey Jude, don't let me down, you have found her, now go and get her." I also think this is a reference to Paul's need to see his friend find happiness, Paul encouraging John to go after his heart's desire.
It's a great album with Revolution and Hey Jude on it (as well as many others), but I can't find any reason why it wouldn't be put onto a CD format and sold.
