Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi (sometimes spelled Hazarfen Ahmed Celebi) the most famous Turkish flyer, inspired by the studies by Leonardo Da Vinci and with some corrections and balancing adjustments, derived from studying the eagle in flight, finally, after nine experimental attempts, gave shape to his wing apparatus.
Evliya Celebi, born on March 25, 1611 in Istanbul, was the son of Dervis Mehmed Zilli, the chief jewellery designer of the Ottoman palace.
Even though Evliya Celebi claims to have witnessed every stage of the expedition and seen many lands such as Sweden and the Netherlands, many experts argue that it was impossible for him to have embarked on such a journey under the conditions of his time.

Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi (lived in the 17th century in Constantinople, Ottoman Empire) is one of the first aviators, who has succeded to fly with artificial wings.
He is supposed to be inspired and use the studies of Leonardo Da Vinci on flight of birds.
Some few people known to succeed this kind of flight are an aviator from Moorish Spain and an English monk in 9th and 12th centuries, respectively.

In the 17C, during the reign of the Ottoman Sultan Murat IV, Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi, a scholar whose first name means "a thousand sciences", managed to fly by wearing rush-work wings, from the top of the Galata Tower to Uskudar, an Asian settlement opposite and across the Bosphorus.
Sultan Murat admired Hezarfen but he was also afraid that his unusual ability would win him excessive power.
