For example, Shinjuku_Station on the Marunouchi Line is also signposted as M-08 with the familiar red colored circle surrounding it; Even if a commuter could not read the English or Japanese station names on signs or maps, they can simply look for the red line and then find the appropriately numbered station on said line.
Lines tend to stop service between midnight and 1:00am and commence again approximately 5:00am.

Since I was constantly transferring between the Hibiya line and the JR Yamanote line at Ueno I got to know the station quite well.
This segment of the Chūō line is particularly pretty in spring, due to all the trees in blossom along the riverbank.

We boarded the Chiyoda Line subway and then transferred to the Hibiya Line to Tsukiji.
The first is a Ginza Line car that dates to the opening of Tokyo's first subway in 1927.
We took the Mita and Chiyoda lines back, but stopped at the AM-PM to grab some drinks and munchies before hitting the beds at the hotel.

The temple architecture is similar to other LDS temples in the States, but unlike the States' temples, the Tokyo temple has no gardens because of the premium on real estate in Tokyo.

I had already walked back to Ebisu along the tracks, the stop where I had intended to transfer to the Hibiya line, so that meant following these tracks was no longer going to take me where I needed to go.
After that it was a half-awake drift across some of the Old Tokyo and Ginza area to the Yamanote line that would take me to the bus back to Kofu.
I had one last bit of trouble as I attempted to walk around Shinjuku station to where I had to get the bus, and ended up walking in some kind of outward spiral with the station getting bigger and bigger.

We started to go down the same train that she was on, but after we entered the gate, I realized it was NOT the right line (Ginza line, we needed Hibiya line).
She was kind of sad we weren't going with her, but I told her how far she had to go.
We walked the long hallway to the right over to the HIbiya line, where once again we had to show our tickets to the manned gate.
