Higashiyamato (東大和市; -shi) is a city located in Tokyo, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 79,621 and the density of 5,880.43 persons per km².
The city was established as Yamato Village on November 1, 1919, promoted to a town on May 3, 1954, and renamed as Higashiyamato on its promotion to a city, on October 1, 1970.

He graduated from the NHK Traditional Music Conservatory and is the winner of the prestigious Kumamoto All Japan Hogaku competition.
He has performed extensively in America, Europe, Asia, and Australia and is a faculty member of the Boulder Colorado summer intensive camps as well as the Australian Shakuahchi Festivals.
