 HIGASHINE-SHI
Higashine City is best known as the air gateway to Yamagata, with Yamagata Airport serving to bring business and tourist visitors to the inland portion of the prefecture.
Higashine is also the home of the prefecture's Ground Self Defense Force Base, which was preceded in postwar years by a U.S. military base.
