David Bowie + The Polyphonic Spree - PopMatters Concert Review
Even the CDs on sale at the show were priced as high as the market could bear; I haven't paid $18 for a single album since I was stuck in Santa Fe shopping at Sam Goody.
Bowie jokingly sang the first few lines of "China Girl" in Chinese as a tease to the crowd, flashed the "horns of the devil" hand signal during "The Supermen", and handed out ear plugs to the crowd before launching into the song the crowd was expecting, "Under Pressure".
Of the seven or eight songs in their set, only two were among that album's standout tracks.

Passionfood Truffles : Poetry & Quotes
Chocolate was considered to be a cure for many illnesses and to provoke passion as well as tasting good during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries although it was still too expensive for people not in high society.
Somehow the song about it grew to include everything else.
Chocolate was thought to have aphrodisiac qualities by the Aztecs, so when it was first introduced to Europe it was natural that people continued to associate it with love.

"Love Song" is a single that came from the popular 1989 Cure album "Disintegration." There are two versions of "Love Song" on this single, Remix (3:24) and Extended Remix (6:18).
It is one of those high-energy "feel good" songs that might make you drive a little faster because you get caught up in the mood (but not speed, of course).
It turned out to be my favorite song, and, as pathetic as it sounds, I have the lyrics to it written on almost everything I own.

Homesick by The Cure was my favourite song through high school (oh the angst, hand-forehead-nail!).
I had to choose from a stack of dancefloor anthems and what the hell, this song kicked off the DJ set I played once that kept the dancefloor packed for the entire timeslot.
We Stand Alone is the song that I remember most from our interstate trip to see Covenant play in Sydney last year.

 The Cure: MP3.com
Of course, without The Cure's extensive list of fine albums and extraordinary singles, which date back to the late 1970s, the odds are high that Smith wouldn't be on anyone's opinion radar in 2004—let alone that the band would have the opportunity to release a self-titled album a quarter-century into its recording career.
There are those who think The Cure should have left 1982's pitch-black Pornography as its swan song, while others, like me, extend the band's essential period through 1989's epic Disintegration —or at the very latest Wish.
In any event, The Cure have been at the forefront of the doom-and-gloom racket for so many years, Smith deserves credit for retaining his long-standing ability to elicit such strong reactions from just about anyone with a pair of headphones.

Autism - Center for Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Autism-like syndrome and Autistic related Disorders testing.
Curing heavy metal poisoning when it is present is a worthy goal (it helps with IQ and other learning difficulties as well as general health), but claiming a cure for autism is a misrepresentation.
The terms low- and high-functioning are controversial and not all autistics accept these labels.
The scientific validity of Lovaas's methods is questioned by many professionals as well as parents and autistics themselves, however, who point out that true ABA is based around the use of aversives which could be experienced by an autistic person as confusing and painful.

Come To Daddy [EP] - Compare Prices, Reviews and Buy Online - Shop Smart at Shopzilla!
James's ambient melodies with the new wave touch are the melodic cornerstone of the title track, while the various mixes of the song pour out his absurdist tendencies--the "Little Lord Faultleroy" mix, for instance, degenerates the rhythm into what sounds like a highly distorted game of Pong over the gentle refrain.
COME TO DADDY, a generous 8-song EP, is the first to roll out his entire bag of tricks for complete consideration.

I don't remember what Lycia's song was, but I do remember that they sounded quite different than their labelmates, and that unlike other bands, they really didn't seem concerned about fashion or image, and the song sounded more like Aphex Twin than The Cure or This Mortal Coil.
Estrella found the band at a creative high, and the result was a record that lured the listener and took them into other realms of aural ecstacy.
From the tribal "Tongues" to the Harold Budd-like "Clouds in the Southern Sky" and from the transcendent bliss of "Estrella" to the melancholy "The Kite," Lycia exploited the term "atmospheric" to the hilt--and the result was heavenly.

Except for the intermission-like "We're Going to Be Friends" and the soulful closer, "This Protector," every song is a guitar-and-drum assault so effortlessly infectious that one might compare it to discovering the cure for the common cold in high-school biology class.
Most of the major minimalists released CDs of new compositions, including Steve Reich and John Adams, and of them it was Ingram Marshall who most deserved a broader audience, with his fascinating application of electronic reverb effects to choral music.
The Whites rip off rock's skin to expose its bluesy muscle and bone, so stark it's grotesque, at least at first.
