Derbyshire is a county in the East Midlands of England, and boasts some of England's most attractive scenery.
Although Derbyshire is generally considered to be in the East Midlands, some parts, such as High Peak, are closer to the northern cities of Manchester and Sheffieldtherefore people in those areas generally consider themselves as Northerners rather than Midlanders.
Derbyshire was the filming location of the 2005 adaptation of Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice: Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley.
